Check this video, the maker used a t-gauge chassis in the passenger car to motorize this Z scale narrow gauge railway. In the back, for reference, you'll see Marklin Z scale loc and cars. As for price, yes, I would say Z is more expensive than N. But there is one big difference, and that is quality. Z scale products tend to be of very high quality.

Sep 6, 2015 · In Z scale that is somewhere between 9 and 12 volts. Here is a rough guide to maximum voltage: Marklin Locomotives: 10 volts. New AZL Locomotives: 12 volts. I think the MTL F7 was rated at 9 volts, but I'm sure someone can help here. Same with the MTL GP35 and SD40-2 that used the Maxon motor.
