Jan 6, 2023 · If the bulb in the continuity tester doesn't light, or the ohmmeter still reads infinity, you are indeed looking at a blown fuse. Fuses are rated by amperage and by fast-blow or slow-blow. For analog tracks either should be fine. For digital tracks and electronic controllers I'd recommend fast-blow fuses.

May 23, 2024 · Five amp fuses should provide adequate protection while still providing enough amps for most cars. Fast-blow fuses respond quicker than slow-blow (duh). The only reason to use slow-blow fuses is for applications where brief current spikes are common and tolerable.
