SDRPlay - Is RSP1b worth the buy? - RadioReference.com Forums
Feb 26, 2024 · For those who own a RSP1a and a RSP1b is the RSP1b worth buying? I own both. I like the RSP1b case better but to be truthful, I use my AirSpy's except when I want to use the SDRplay spectrum analyzer program and do not have my spectrum analyzer with me.

He notes that thanks to the improved noise performance under 1 MHz, reception of NDB's from airports is significantly better. Matt also tests SDRConnect Preview 2 which is SDRplay's new multiplatform receiver software.

SDRuno calculates this and the S meter and spectrum display accordingly. What you observe is that the “noise floor” of the receiver gets worse (increases) as you reduce the gain. The received signal however does not change and will display approximately the same level.
