Jul 21, 2021 · Rhythm is the duration of notes. Melody is the notes themselves. You can take a melody and change the rhythm, or take the rhythm and change the melody, both are fully possible. If you take the same rhythm and drift towards the same melody that's just you drifting towards the source material you hear in your head.
