Its not always red but looks swollen and stings. Is it hyperplasia? Can it go away by itself with time? Why is my Plica semilunaris, which is red and swollen have a bump near the white part of eye?

Feb 8, 2008 · A review of many 35mm Kodachrome eye slides dating back to 1951 reveals a great variation in the anatomy of the caruncle, the plica semilunaris, and the adjacent bulbar conjunctiva. In this photo there is a papillomatous formation in the bulbar conjunctiva not far from a normal appearing plica semilunaris.

Getting larger The area between my eye and the inside of my lower eyelid has some fatty / oily deposits. There are also some yellowish bumps on the inside of my lower eyelid and also on the lacrimal caruncle. My plica semilunaris is also enlarged.
