May 27, 2024 · Unfortunately, dogs will bark, and this is a public park. I'm not saying it's ok and I really do sympathize (dogs are not allowed at my barn or on my trails, but I mostly ride on private property), however, if the dogs are restrained then it's not really a risk, just an annoyance.

I would love to hire a trainer to help me but horses aren't necessarily a priority in my county so the nearest good trainer is over an hour away and charges $175 a session for a starting price I'm not saying that it is a bad price just over my budget 😊.
Pet peeve - dog in the arena while riding | The Horse Forum
Oct 24, 2012 · I realize that doesn't help when you're in an arena focusing on riding and a dog just shoots out from under the railing. Maybe if several of you get together and agree that whenever the dog enters the arena, start walking it down. I bet the dog would learn quickly. Most dogs stay away after the first kick to the head or trampling as well.

Feb 5, 2013 · It also means that the court treats the owner differently. In one case the owner may not know the dog has this aggressive tendency, in the other case the owner knows and ignores it. You can let your horse handle it. If the dog does hurt your horse you can sue them and have them handle the vet care. I have seen that done.

Mar 23, 2024 · When riding on roads my first worry is cars, followed by holes/ditches, then dogs, and finally maybe trash. It's not debris, it's trash thrown out by ignorant people. My daughter and I did a 7.5 mile around the block last weekend. We went by a local restaurant and she wanted to stop in at the tiki bar but I vetoed that idea.
