It is hard to really know the limits of nightmare luffy since we got to see him before using armament haki was such a common thing in the story. It could be that nightmare luffy increases his base form, and then he could increase nightmare luffy with haki again or perhaps even a G4 nightmare luffy etc. Which would then level him up multiple times.

Nightmare luffy was an insane power up even by current standards. Allowing him to absolutely destroy oars who the rest of the crew combined couldn't do much to. In terms of physicals it is still some top level stuff even now.
