Feb 3, 2019 · I think the general consensus we have nowadays is that Kata let Luffy win. Katakuri couldn't beat Luffy. Even though he was stronger, and initially had an unbeatable advantage (future sight), Luffy managed to out-last him and even gain future sight in the span of 10 hours to fight Katakuri on an even playing field.

Luffy knows how to handle it. Right near the beginning of the fight, Katakuri calls Luffy "tough" in reference to his ability to take a beating, and I think that while he didn't know yet how true that would be, it ultimately sums up a lot of the fight. Feb 6, 2020 · The fight is just decent and doesn’t come close to something like that Luffy vs Rob Lucci or the Doflamingo fight. Even Crocodile fight was better. There was too much plot armour/convenience, Katakuri stopped using half his abilities that he showed early on and it was seriously anticlimactic.

Sep 23, 2018 · CoC have limit of usage. Luffy wants to develop his observation haki by limiting his attacks and be in the receiving end. Rayleigh mentioned your haki will improve better in fight. Luffy even intentionally closed his eyes to train his CoO. You don't use you trump card at the very beginning. Even in Dressrosa Luffy did not immmediately fight in G4.

Jun 30, 2020 · Ultimately, Luffy vs. Katakuri was a war of attrition and I think Luffy had an advantage there specifically because he'd spent two years constantly fighting with huge beasts. Katakuri was physically stronger and faster than Luffy and had better Haki, but his biggest advantage was his ability to see into the future.
