Jun 24, 2018 · So here is a question. I follow the logic on when eARC is needed. I just bought an active optical HDMI cable because I am going ~30ft from Smart TV to receiver. I am using the Smart TV for the streaming source and then running the HDMI cable to the eARC on the receiver. The HDMI cable has a "source" end and a "display" end.
