Control Panel - Device Manager - Modems (most are not Fax) Check with the System Maker Support, their on-line documentation, and forum (if any). Also check with the actual device maker if a modem is listed. Hope this helps.

But XP and the laptop its running on are outdated and I need to use my newer computer to take over this function. However, my Windows 10 system does not have Fax Console. Fax and Scan asks for a local modem, or a Fax Server on the network.

Feb 15, 2015 · The issue lies with specific types of fax machines that I am sending to or receiving from. That is specifically the types of fax machines you would find in a large office space like a bank, hospital, etc. Also, the fax modem when plugged into my laptop which runs Windows 7, is able to send and receive faxes from these types of machines.
