Jul 7, 2016 · The 450 fast hitch is different from the ones on the early 400s. A 450 FH would be easer to install on an M but will require so major design work to get it attached. IIRC, the 400 FH had only one hyd cylinder & it attached to the left rear corner of the operator's deck.

hp of a super m farmall with fire crater pistons?
Feb 10, 2012 · Edit: The 450 had 4-1/8 bore and displaced 281 cu.in The 400 and Super M had a 4" bore and displaced 264 cu.in. The M had a 3-7/8" bore and 248 cu.in. 400 and Super M could definitely have 4-1/8" sleeves and pistons without machine work, now I'm not certain about 4-1/4" I used to know all this crap.
International Farmall 504? Good, bad ugly? Run away?
Jul 7, 2011 · The engine is what IH calls the C-153. I don't think it is the same engine as a H because it winds tighter, but the power output is about the same. Basically a Farmall 504 is a 1960's H with live PTO and power steering. Never had a 504 but had a IH 210 swather with the same engine. Not a real powerhouse by any means, but a good engine.

Dec 6, 2013 · Many of the old 4cyl IH (M, SM, 400, 450, etc) are + ground. I charge batteries from them via the starter terminal cable (be careful of gas tank!!!). I put the + (red) cable from charger on the starter. However you had better know for SURE whether you have + or - ground machine.
