Feb 24, 2022 · Etsy is the responsible party for the sales tax, not you. Etsy collects the sales tax, Etsy remits the sales tax. Caveat: On your sales tax report, don't report sales tax as paid. Because Etsy collects and remits what Etsy owes, not what you owe. You owe nothing. You should report your Etsy income as tax-exempt.

Mar 4, 2019 · This is an old thread and much of the information is now out of date. Utah enacted the new Marketplace collection laws back in 2019. This means you no longer have to collect sales tax for Etsy buyers in your state. Etsy collects sales tax for 44 US states incl Utah.

Now ETSY is collecting and paying sales tax quote unquote "on my behalf". I need to have documented proof that it has been paid on my behalf under my sales and use permit to my state comptroller.

Jul 23, 2019 · It will get better. This was me for the entire month of May and first 2 weeks of June. My stats were down 40-80%. Sales were terrible. I did have days with no sales, which had never happened since my early days on etsy. I suspect my shop was a victim of one of etsy's "tests" as I changed nothing to warrant the huge drop.
