Mar 10, 2008 · EDIT: Title of this thread should read 'DRIVE stun' or 'dry fire', not 'dry stun' or 'dry fire' When I went through Taser training, we were all taught that if you shoot someone with the barbs and they don't make good contact, you could push the end of the taser cartridge against their body to complete the circuit.

The current will not transfer from the subject it was used on to anything else in the water making it safe to use if both you and the subject are in the water (also pointed out above).
