Sep 3, 2022 · You do not need to use Legacy settings in BIOS to see/use the optical drive on XPS 8930. So that's not going to help. I've got Legacy disabled on my XPS 8930 (Win 10) and I've been using the optical drive frequently for 3 years to burn CDs with no problems.

XPS 8930, adding optical drive/kit - Dell
Sep 30, 2019 · My XPS 8930 does not have any optical drive. There's no problems adding one internally since power, SATA cables, and room, rails...BUT unlike old towers I've had there's no "punch out" in the front bezel. Dell sells the drive with kit, the service manual does not cover new installs just R+R. Does anyone have any suggestions?
