Reloads slow as shit, and has an ammo economy similar to the Psyker's stubber. It can 1 tap headshot most enemies and knocks over elites / specials.

In terms of flexibility, the Combat Shotgun is better. Take out a horde of fodder with a sticky, or use full-auto as a combo-ender for style points and free shotgun ammo. SSG 99/100 times. The mobility of the meathook is unmatched and crucial for mastery of the combat loop.

Fun news, the combat shotgun in DarkTide is a sniper rifle. Especially if you aim for headshots it feels like the gun keeps pace with the infantry lasgun in popping ranged dudes.
