Oct 29, 2020 · Pictured are two Arisaka model 38’s firearms a carbine and full size rifle. Both were brought back from the Pacific theatre. The Imperial Seal of Japan known or the Chrysanthemum Seal is present on both rifles. The full sized rifle still sports the dust cover. They are chambered in the 6.50 X 50mm cartridge.

Sep 4, 2011 · The intact mum means that your Type 38 is a battlefield pickup/vet bring-back. That means it commands a premium. Most of the Arisaka rifles you see have the mum defaced in some way. The Mum marked the rifle as the Emperor's property, not to be surrendered.

Dec 25, 2010 · I just read about PONTIACDM's new Arisaka and that reminded me that I still need a "Handguard, Rifle, 6.5 Cal." for my Type 38. I check with Numrich once-in-a-while but they always seem to be out. I would prefer one with light wood but any is better than nothing. Let me know what you've got. Thanks, Roy.

May 28, 2012 · Have owned a type 38 sporterized Arisaka, rechambered to 257 Roberts (6.5x257R/6.5x57) for about 1 1/2 years now. When I first got it and figured out how to reload for it, rifle's accuracy very poor....4" plus groups at 100 yards. Many a round later, trying various powders/loads and tinkering with rifle itself, had it down to around 2" groups.

Vickery ) thought that a detachable magazine wasn't an interesting enough option to add to this beautiful custom rifle, otherwise I'm sure that it would probably have one ..
