Looking for folding sights that are as rugged and reliable as the A2 sights yet fold for an optic! Apr 26, 2013 · For a fighting gun, I would agree with the guys who say standard FSB front sight, and fixed rear (if you won't be using an optic). However, I can tell you that Troy flip ups are extremely hardy. My most used AR is a 5.5" 9mm that has Troy flip ups, and it's been dropped, banged, and abused for four years now, and they are still perfect.

Feb 5, 2021 · This is for a truck gun build, and I wanted to prioritize ruggedness and have something I can just just toss around like a tool without worrying about glass getting scratched up. I do use an ACOG, which is the most rugged optic there is IMO, but the iron sights are a backup option if there is too much rain/fog/dust whatever.

Aug 24, 2021 · I love the Scalarworks Peak iron sights. I use an M5 with lower 1/3 witness and find that the sights do not bother me. When I had an absolute co-witness mount I kept trying to line the dot up with the sights, which was an annoyance.

Jan 27, 2020 · Able to purchase a S&W M&P 15 Sport 2, Model 12936 with Crimson Trace 103 optics. Such a great weapon and a fantastic price of $499 but I also want iron sites. I've asked S&W in email and on the phone and they were unable to provide flip sight recommendations and they don't sell S&W sights for this weapon.

Jan 9, 2014 · I was thinking about installing a 3x or 4x magnifier ahead of the rear sight in a flip-to-side mount. In theory, my rear sight would remain the same while the rest of the sight picture, including the front sight post would be magnified.

However, I recently put together an AR-10 with the optic at lower 1/3 height to match a night vision attachment. Turns out, the higher optic is much better aligned with my eye and much easier to bring on target.
