Oct 10, 2020 · Absolutely. IF Disney suddenly started considering 4k disc releases for Fox product, The Sound of Music would definitely have to be in their top 5 list. The only thing that worries me is that the last title they went with was HOME ALONE. Oct 10, 2020.

Apr 26, 2018 · Location. Richmond, VA. Real Name. Jim. Noticed that there is a new YouTube video with a trailer for a new 4K restoration of SOUND OF MUSIC and re-issue to theaters in 70mm. Not sure if this link will work, but this could mean a 4K disc and blu ray? I know many people here had issues with the existing blu ray.

Jan 14, 2007 · Kevin Collins. FotoKem restoration of Twentieth Century Fox's The Sound of Music will kick off the sixth annual TCM Classic Film Festival on 3/26/15. FotoKem completed the restoration of the 65mm classic through 8K scans from large-format film elements and then down-sampled to 4K for restoration and digital cinema mastering. Nice!

Oct 10, 2020 · Only The Sound of Music had non-perpetuity soundtrack rights, with renewal by RCA Victor/Sony happening every 10 years, but once Concord bought R&H in 2017 they didn't renew the license, obviously because they are a record company now owning the property, the stage show, the publishing, etc.

Stereo is the most likely to work with all TVs. If the TV supports Dolby Digital that will offer improved sound over Stereo. Dolby Digital Plus is the best, but supported by the fewest TVs.

In a nutshell, PCM can be considered more “fundamental” than bitstream formats like Dolby Digital or DTS. Dolby Digital and DTS are not bitstream-only formats. Each format can be carried over PCM from, say, a Blu-ray player over 5.1 or 7.1 RCA line-level outputs.

The blu-ray player does not have any analog audio outputs (no RCA jacks). If it did, I suppose it would be worth trying (and an okay workaround, if it resulted in a volume boost).
