ROG Fan Controller - what the hell does this thing do? : r/ASUS
Jan 19, 2022 · I bought a ROG Crosshair VIII Extreme, and it came with a fancy hardware fan controller. This is the first build that I've actually set up a decent number of fans on, and I plugged them all into the fan controller. I even plugged thermal sensors into it. Annnnd now I can't seem to get any information about my fans or thermal sensors.
Any way to control fan speeds on ROG laptop without Armoury hell?
Dec 13, 2021 · I also tried many "fan control" applications but alas, none of them worked. I don't really want to install Armoury crate again that bloats the OS with tens of services and processes. The thing is, it was pretty handy in controlling fan speeds. But I really want just fan control without Aura sync + ArmouryCrateService + etc.

Dec 1, 2023 · You cant, say, set fan 1 to red, fan 2 to blue, and fan 3 to red again. They will all be the same color. If you set a transitioning effect, like a wave, it will play across all the 3 fans at the same time, not hop from one fan to the next, etc. Stop spreading misinformation, plox.

Dec 15, 2021 · Solution 2: install AI Suite and it have a great fan controler, much better then armory crate. and it keep a button on the side of the screen to change mode. plus the fans run quiter. for a desktop with lots of fans like mine its a better solution since i dont want it loud when im browsing and chilling on pc

Aug 20, 2020 · The B450-F only has 4-pin RGB headers, not 3-pin aRGB headers. You will not be able to control/power the led’s on the fan through the motherboard (and don’t try to connect the fans to the rgb headers - it will damage something , likely the fan LED’s). You will have to find some sort of aftermarket controller.
