This method is easiest for a beginner and is used on most larger size tanks. 2) The bottom panels are silicon to the sides of the tank. The key to this is that the bottom panel should be slight off the bottom.

Mar 3, 2011 · The side panels sit on top of the bottom glass. The padding or mat is used to compensate for any slight irregularities in the surface you are setting the tank on. If your stand doesn't have an absolute perfectly level surface without some kind of padding in place you could be creating pressure points at one or more locations on the bottom glass.
