Now though, my current T encourages me to do a LOT of art therapy/journaling as a coping skill and a lot of hobbies (knitting, reading, etc). We also have used some cards in therapy once. SIMILAR to the old ink blot cards, but more modern.

Jun 11, 2023 · So there’s always a lot of working around elevated emotions in my household we do therapy and counselling and psych check ins I’m med resistant as it makes my suicidal symptom's worse. My kiddo has been pulled off her adhd meds as she is severely underweight. Since stopping the adhd meds the ODD and OCD has skyrocketed through the roof.
Undiagnosed I think I was molested and I am feeling lost.

It’s in their sphere, so they process by play, but it’s not part of their daily lives. And the adults in their lives? Handle it by putting a stop to it, because sex & sexuality is very weighted in the west.

Jan 22, 2024 · Adults have developed resilience as a child because society protected them; now that they're not protected for most of the abuse, they blame themselves and buy into the "adulthood" construct. It's a social construct, and it's ingrained in our hearts and brains. Of course you blame yourself.

Nov 17, 2023 · I take the view that all therapy is self therapy because I'm the person carrying those parts and aspects of myself that I struggle with. So going to a therapist is about me recognising and being honest with myself about what I can't do by myself. For me, CBT wasn't appropriate because of dissociation.

Mar 7, 2013 · As far as my self harm thoughts, I would call my therapist but the urges usually come at night and she is only available between 8am and 4pm so that wouldn't work for me. I end up distracting myself with crisis chat services sometimes, because I find it hard to actually talk on the phone about self injury.
