iPadOS 15 : we are stuck with 6x5 apps on home screen now?
Jun 8, 2021 · I know we're still in beta, so hopefully they fix this. iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 were already letdowns, don't make it worse with what looks like taking the iPhone's Display Zoom feature and just slapping it into iPadOS 15 without seeing how bad the results look. Apple's Batteries widget surely won't ship like this, they'll fix the spacing.

What I find bizarre in that iPadOS 15 screenshot is that instead of being 6x4, it’s now 4x6. Previously, the space was adjusted so that the order of the icons was the same in portrait and landscape. But now, it appears the order changes based on whether you’re in landscape or portrait. I wonder why Apple made that decision.

Apr 10, 2022 · I did the upgrade from 14.8.1 to 15 when it dropped but as soon as I realized how they'd compromised the screen grid spacing, I was able to downgrade the next day back to 14.8.1 and that's where I am still. Now we're up to 15.4.1 and I'm wondering if there is anything about this current OS that would make an upgrade worthwhile.

Jun 8, 2021 · Google Drive apps in particular are much better to use on this bigger screen, and I can use the Safari versions as necessary too without losing my spot anywhere else. I think some of the unsexy under the hood changes in iPadOS 15 have potential to really speed up workflow even given the disappointing omissions.

Apr 28, 2021 · TLDR: 'merge macOS and iPadOS' with extra steps. I watched SnazzyLabs new video' on the latest apple event and his comments on the M1 iPad Pro got me thinking about iPadOS 15. His comment on it was basically along the line of: these things have such clear capabilities in terms of hardware to replace a laptop.
