May 23, 2021 · Virginia. The 7.3L Ford engine replaces the V10 which is a good engine but fuel hungry, loud, and needs high revs to reach it best torque. The 7.3 was designed to have a lot of low rev torque similar to a diesel engine characteristics. It is also better on fuel consumption than the V10. May 24, 2021.

The starting battery has the markings F06 which I believe indicates the battery is at least four years old. Last night the battery went out and i had to jump it to get the engine started. I was told by a friend the battery was past due for replacement.

Aug 3, 2018 · The 3-valve V10 is similar in horsepower to the 8.1L V8, but the V8 runs at lower rpms to produce it. Many people find that lower rpms (less noise) to be less stressful on the occupants. Or another way to look at it, some V10 owners are unwilling to utilize all the power it has available due to fear of high rpms and engine noise.

The GM 8.1L V8 is usually coupled to the Allison 1000 in pick-ups or Workhorse motorhome chassis, but in the van chassis used for Class C's I suppose it could be one of the car trannys. Walk me through driving my Ford V10 down mountain grades
Nov 4, 2014 · My rig will dynamically engine brake and hold at about 45 to 50 MPH on a 6% grade with my loading. The engine is usually at 4500+ RPM. On ocassion the RPM's are over 5000. The Triton V10 really works well in the upper RPM ranges. On steeper grades I have to ocassionally use brakes to hold it at 45 or so.

Sep 10, 2010 · You have to check the coach's spec sheet. In 2005 or 2006 the Allison tranny went from a 5 speed to a 6 speed. In 2005 Ford made its automatic a 5 speed with a tow/haul feature. Also the horsepower rating on the the Ford V10 has increased from 310 to about 360. It depends on the model year of the coach.

Sep 18, 2009 · 430. I found both 35PSI at Idle and 58PSI for the v-10 depending on year and configuration I think yours is right at 35 PSI at Idle. Anything that would cause an open loop will show up as a CEL (check engine light) and throw a code which should be easily read with you scanner if it is the right one for a ford.

Jan 11, 2017 · Need to replace the engine. The engine itself is $4700 from Ford, reman locally will save a whopping $1000, but cut warranty from 3 yrs to 6 months. I'n my opinion, not worth the savings. The whole deal, including replacing hoses, and water pump etc is $8900.
