Confederation Bridge tolls are charged based on a vehicle’s axle-count and are calculated for the round-trip, regardless of the user’s initial point of entry to Prince Edward Island. Bridge tolls are collected when leaving Prince Edward Island at the toll plaza in Borden-Carleton, PE.

The Confederation Bridge is designed to minimize the effects of extreme weather conditions, and it is rare that the Bridge is closed to all traffic. The most common wind restrictions usually only apply to high-sided vehicles, motorcycles, and vehicles towing objects.

Pedestrian & Cyclists. Due to safety concerns, pedestrians and cyclists are not permitted on the Confederation Bridge. To accommodate these users, Bridge personnel operate a shuttle service from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
