Welcome to Antique Engine Rebuilding! We rebuild Ford Model A and B engines using inserted bearings. We build Short Block, Long Block, or full Running engines, and offer Basic or Touring packages.
Are our engines rebuilt for no lead gas? Yes, all of our engines have SS straight stem valves with one piece valve guides. We install nickel chrome hard valve seats in all of our engines. This makes the engine compatible for no lead gas by industry standards.
Model A Touring Engine. Best for longer distance driving and highway speeds. Thie engine provides a smoother ride and slightly higher horsepower. Starts with our Basic Build, then adds the following: SHORT BLOCK: Counterbalanced Crankshaft; Touring Grind Camshaft; Larger Intake Valves (1.730 Head Dia.) LONG BLOCK: Counterbalanced Crankshaft
ALL Model B engines include insert main bearings and new insert connecting rods with insert bearings, as well as one-piece press-in valve guides with stainless steel straight stem valves. Prices subject to change without notice.
Remanufactured Engine Block Instructions. Do not attempt to start or run the engine without maintaining proper oil level and flow. We recommend 10W30 or 5W30 motor oils. The Model A engine with a steel camshaft and flat tappets performs well with new motor oils. Check oil flow immediately after starting engine.
After 30 plus years of experience with Model A & B engines, the most common problem is a rear main oil leak. This problem can be very simple to correct or it can turn into a costly time-consuming job.
For added power we can rebuild your engine with a new 330 lift camshaft. USA Made. This is a higher lift camshaft with longer duration than reground camshafts.
