In the era of the JL, there has been a lot of movement from jeep to equalize/standardize the tech/infotainment offerings across all trim levels. A pretty good example of this would be the MY22 year when the alpine audio system was made to be a standard inclusion with all Rubicon & Sahara trims.

Feb 8, 2022 · If you are a DIY type of person, maybe you can do better. The nice thing about the Alpine is the factory sub enclosure built into the rear wheel well. In my JKU I had the base system, and for about $1k I replaced the head unit, speakers, and added a sub. Sounded better than my Alpine in the JLU, but the install of the sub was less desirable.

Sep 15, 2021 · The upgrade Alpine system is definitely worth it. I prefer it over the HK I had in my 2019, as the HK was overwhelming bass. For rock and metal, the Alpine system is excellent. If you like bass-heavy music the sub in the Alpine may not be enough for you.

Oct 21, 2023 · I think adding a larger sub should give the Alpine system the added punch it needs but am undecided which is the best direction to head. I would go with the JL Audio Stealth box but my Scat is equipped with the adaptive suspension using a module that is placed in that driver side rear corner of the trunk. Then the possible issues that creates.

Dec 3, 2019 · If you have the base 6 speaker non-alpine system, there are no amps or DSP so it's easier to add aftermarket amps using normal line out converters, Audio Control LC series units, or even the Rev.2 version of the aforementioned PAC Ap4-CH41 (best sound quality).

Feb 6, 2021 · It's no competition setup but enough to enjoy all genres of music at a loud volume while maintaining clarity. I have not heard the Alpine audio group personally so cant comment on that. I have the factory/stock "Alpine Premium". It's basically 2 door mid speakers, 2 high tweeters in the dash, and 2 rear mid speakers.
