In Late Jan 2021, I really want a 3080 pronto to get into the mining craze and since I'm due for a complete system upgrade from a i7 3770, 1080 Ti, I've purchased a refurbished Alienware Aurora R11 with 3080 for $2099 (10700 Heatsink, 16GB ram single channel, 256 NVME, 2TB HDD, RTX 3080) from a seller called DCR through Bestbuy.

Dec 9, 2024 · So something about the vram usage has changed since the patch. My rtx 3080 was fine at medium settings for textures and shadows (like DF recommended.) Now I get the yellow text vram too low warning in the menu, even with both of those turned to low. I have to also turn global illumination to low to make the warning go away.
