Earlier today, Senator-elect Dave McCormick announced that State Senator Ryan Aument (R-Lancaster) will serve as his new State Director. This is the first staffing announcement that McCormick has made since narrowly winning his election against Democrat Bob Casey back in November.

State Sen. Ryan Aument on Tuesday announced that he has accepted the role of state director for U.S. Sen.-elect Dave McCormick. Accordingly, Aument intends to officially resign from his position as Pennsylvania State Senator for the 36th senatorial district serving northern Lancaster County prior to Jan.

Its’s unclear when Aument will resign from his position, and who will try to run to fulfill the remaining two years of his term.

Senator-Elect Dave McCormick has appointed State Senator and Republican Whip Ryan Aument as his State Director, marking the first major staffing decision of his incoming U.S. Senate term.

McCormick said in a statement that he’s “thrilled” Aument has agreed to serve in this role, citing his background as an Army veteran and role as whip for the Republican majority in the state Senate. The Aument appointment is McCormick’s first staffing decision.
