Wales secured a historic place at the Euro 2025 finals as they defeated the Republic of Ireland in a play-off to reach a major tournament for the first time. The debutants will be in Pot 4, with the draw determining the four groups of four teams as well as the path through to the quarter-finals, semi-finals and Euro 2025 final.

The Lionesses' manager Sarina Wiegman, whose side go into the tournament in Switzerland as defending champions, described the draw as "tough" but "very exciting".

European champions England will renew their rivalry with France and the Netherlands and also clash with debutants Wales in the group stage of the Women's Euro 2025 tournament after the draw was made in Switzerland on Monday.

Euro 2025 will kick off in Switzerland on Wednesday 2 July. The final will be played at St-Jakob’s Park in Basel on Sunday 27 July. In the UK, BBC Sport and ITV have agreed a deal to broadcast Euro 2025. Every match of the tournament will be shown on either the BBC or ITV, with the final available on both channels.

France were drawn on Monday night to play defending champions England, Wales and the Netherlands in the group stages at the 2025 women's European championships.

Just the very sight of their name in the hat for the draw will be a huge thrill to all those connected to the women's game in Wales. After so many years in the footballing wilderness, they are finally set to take their first bow at a major international tournament.

The holders, England, were drawn in a group with France, the 2017 champions the Netherlands and their neighbours Wales for the 2025 Women’s European Championship in Switzerland.

England will face France, Netherlands and Wales at next summer’s Women’s European Championship in Switzerland. Sarina Wiegman’s side are the reigning European champions after beating Germany in the final of Euro 2022.
