The emergency weather alert had come early Fourth of July morning: There would be life-threatening flash flooding in Kerr County, Texas.

The remains of Katherine Ferruzzo, the only Camp Mystic counselor who remained unaccounted for, were found Friday, her family said in a statement. Ferruzzo, 19, is among the 27 Camp Mystic campers and counselors who died during the devastating July 4 flooding in Kerr County. She was serving as a counselor at the camp's Bubble Inn this summer.

The number of fatalities connected to the Kerr County floods has risen to 75, local officials said Monday as search and rescue efforts continue and Camp Mystic grieved ”the loss of 27 campers and counselors”.

KERRVILLE, Texas — Texas-based company James Avery artisan jewelry is mourning the loss of a young family member who died in last week's flash flooding. The company's chairman announced Friday that 8-year-old Renee Smajstrla died in the Kerr County floods. She was a camper at Camp Mystic. The camp has lost 27 campers and counselors in the flood.

Eight-year-old twins Hanna and Rebecca Lawrence had big dreams for the future. Hanna wanted to be a chef and open a restaurant that fed people in need for free. Rebecca aspired to be a teacher, her father John Lawrence said in an emailed statement. He said they both looked up to and wanted to be like their 14-year-old sister, Harper.
