First responders found a woman dead on the floor of the Avon home with visible injuries and signs of a struggle, the Norfolk DA's office said.

A man arrested in connection with the killing of his mother inside their Avon home will face a judge on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

A 22-year-old man is now charged with killing his mother in their home in Avon, Massachusetts. Thadeus Joseph will be arraigned on a murder charge Wednesday in Stoughton District Court in the death of 53-year-old Astrid Joseph.

Avon police and fire officials responded at 4:22 p.m. to the Nichols Avenue home after a 911 call “from a household member about an unresponsive female in need of medical assistance,” according to a statement from the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Thadeus Joseph is charged with killing Astrid Joseph inside the family’s home on Nichols Avenue in Avon on Tuesday afternoon.

Astrid Joseph was identified by officials as the woman killed in Avon. She was found dead in a home on Nichols Avenue in Avon at 4:22 p.m. on March 4. A household member called 911 to report an unresponsive woman who needed medical help in the home, the office said.
