Avelo Airlines announced it will expand service at the Wilmington Airport (ILG) with nonstop routes to Northeast Florida’s Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and North Carolina’s Research Triangle via Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).

Avelo Airlines Inc. will add flights at Dulles International Airport to new destinations later this spring as part of a national expansion, the latest of several low-cost carriers to add service to IAD.

Avelo, formerly a charter service known as Casino Express or Xtra Airways, launched on April 28, 2021, the town and airline said. The airline flies to dozens of U.S. cities, including Albany, New Haven and Hartford, as well as Cancun, Mexico; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, according to the company's website.
