Colin “Smiley” Petersen, who rose to international fame as the original drummer of the Bee Gees, has died at the age of 78.

Two drummers, Colin "Smiley" Petersen and Dennis Bryon, for legendary group the Bee Gees died within four days of each other.

His death was announced by tribute band The Best of the Bee Gees, who he toured with extensively over the past five years.
