Shane Gillis made his return to "Saturday Night Live" as host for the second time since he was fired from the program in 2019. Gillis joined the cast in 2019, but was fired shortly thereafter when a 2018 YouTube video of the comedian using a racial slur on “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” resurfaced.

Now that Lorne Michaels has tapped Shane Gillis to host Saturday Night Live for a second time (we get it, Lorne, nobody is going to tell you who you can and can’t hire), can we declare the grand Gillis experiment over now?

When I hear about comedian Shane Gillis, it’s like when someone talks to me about New England for too long: my eyes glaze over because that is not my business. That is white people’s business to sort out amongst yourselves.
