The CEO of Genki, a company that caused quite a stir at CES 2025, seemingly confirms even more details about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Plug the USB cable into the Switch console, or dock if you’re using it in docked mode, and plug the other end of the cable into the Pro Controller. Push and hold the Power button on the top of the Switch until you see the Nintendo logo, or until the green light on the side of the dock lights up, to turn the console back on.

Rumors of the seemingly imminent arrival of Nintendo's Switch 2 may continue to pop up online, but Nintendo may not be the only gaming handheld this year with detachable controllers you can use independently from the main body.

Of course, even if an optical sensor is present on the Nintendo Switch 2 controller, there’s no guarantee that it will actually be utilized like this.
