KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are trying to rebuild the Indian innings after the initial wickets of Devdutt Padikkal and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Jasprit Bumrah led India's fightback with three fiery spells in the final session. 17 wickets fell and Australia were reeling at 67 for 7 at Stumps on Day 1. Batters from both sides failed to adjust to the spicy Perth pitch.

Bumrah was right on the target from the ball one, causing trouble to the new opening pair of Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja, before removing the debutant on just ten. He could have bagged twice in the same over had Kohli not dropped Labuschagne’s sitter in the second slip.

As many as 17 wickets fell on the opening day of the first Test between India and Australia. In reply to India's 150 all out, Australia couldn't stand in front Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj as the hosts ended the day on 67/7.

Virat Kohli didn't had the best of the starts to this tour of Australia as the former skipper was out for just five in India's first innings.
