Hundreds of weather forecasters and other federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration employees on probationary status were fired Thursday, lawmakers and weather experts said.

Federal employees who monitor and forecast the nation’s weather and climate have been hit with a wave of mass firings.

The Trump administration has its government-shrinking sights set on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, where around 800 employees have been tapped for termination, according to two sources close to the agency.

The National Weather Service in Gaylord reports that a new season snowfall total has been set in its record books.

The advisory was for Western Mojave Desert and Morongo Basin. "Winds are decreasing across the area and the Wind Advisory will be allowed to expire," states the NWS Las Vegas NV. The advisory is in effect until 4 p.

The warning was for Inland Pender, Coastal Pender, Inland New Hanover, Coastal New Hanover, Inland Brunswick and Coastal Brunswick as well as Robeson, Bladen and Columbus counties.

Experts caution the groups play a key role in ensuring agencies use the best available science in their decision making.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released its spring weather outlook this week. The outlook predicts warmer temperatures throughout the South and East Coast and colder temperatures in the Northwest.

On Tuesday at 5:15 a.m. the NWS Fort Worth TX issued a tornado warning in effect until 5:30 a.m. for Johnson and Tarrant counties.
