Cambodia’s defense ministry says that the country’s troops have not withdrawn from a patch of land whose ownership is hotly disputed by neighboring Thailand.

Forces that were deployed after a deadly armed clash on May 28 have been withdrawn to previously agreed positions.

Thailand and Cambodia have reaffirmed their commitment to peacefully resolving recent border disputes through existing bilateral mechanisms, vowing to continue negotiations under the framework of the Joint Boundary Commission.
