Uganda’s Ebola caseload increased to 14 in the last week, Africa’s top public health agency said Thursday, with a new cluster emerging from a 4-year-old child who recently died of the infectious disease.

A new cluster of Ebola cases has emerged in Uganda, the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said on Thursday, adding that efforts were being made to intensify monitoring and contact-tracing measures.

A second illness cluster has been identified in Uganda's Ebola Sudan outbreak, with the latest cases linked to the recently reported death of a 4-year-old boy from the virus, officials from the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said today.

Uganda's Ebola virus caseload has risen to 12, up from 10, with two people who died early last month being considered probable cases, the World Health Organization said on Wednesday.
