Famous county landmark to turn purple tonight in aid of epilepsy awareness. One of Shrewsbury's historic buildings will be lit up in purple tonight to mark Epilepsy Awareness Day.

The Bridge Street building, constructed in 1876 as a warehouse for stationers Robert McGregor, had been vacant for 25 years, and was heavily infested with buddleia and other plants.

The purple used during the month is a symbol to support gynecological cancer patients, research, treatment and awareness. There is also a secondary color, teal, that is used throughout the month.
