A painting of Mahatma Gandhi, believed to be the only oil portrait he ever sat for, sold for $205,000 at Bonhams on Tuesday.

A rare oil portrait of Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi has been sold at auction in London for £152,800 ($204,648).

The painting had never been up for auction before and is believed to be the only oil portrait for which Mahatma Gandhi sat.
