As this chip was on the outer edge of the PCB, being able to move it meant the board could get cut down smaller than ever before. But there’s more than just a hacked N64 motherboard living ...

So a joystick something something, and a new PCB. I don’t get it. Did people originally just transplant an analogue stick mechanism from a Gamecube pad to an N64 one?

More importantly, this Nintendo 64 is built using a real Nintendo 64. Gunnar didn't opt for shortcuts, like an emulator or a printed circuit board (PCB). As a result, it plays real cartridges.

It has unveiled a "Mod Kit" for the original Nintendo 64 controller, ... There's no soldering required, so it's as easy as opening up the N64 controller's case and slotting in the new PCB.
