JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) – The International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough is remembering its founder Jimmy Neil Smith, who passed away on Saturday.

Storytelling can be a living bridge between generations and cultures, as Kevin Jones discovered recently at the National Storytelling Festival (October 1-3) in Jonesborough, Tennessee.

Smith, who was the founder and president emeritus of the Storytelling Center, previously served as mayor and played a pivotal role in bringing the Storytelling Festival to the town.
