Joann was one of the best places to buy fabric, but with the store closing, quilters are left looking for new shops. Here are our favorites, including Spoonflower, Hawthorne, and Etsy.

Joann Fabrics and Crafts announced it would close roughly 530 stores, including six West Michigan locations, earlier this month. Although the major chain is closing its locations one by one, there are plenty of locally-owned small businesses to check out that sell their fair share of crafting supplies.

Joann Inc., which was formerly known as Jo-Ann Fabrics, operates 21 stores in Minnesota, from Hutchinson to Hibbing. This week, the company announced the closure of all 800 stores.
