A Jackson County, Missouri, jury recommended a long prison sentence Friday for a man convicted of shooting and killing a 58-year-old in a bout of road rage on I-70 in Oak Grove.

Charles J. Smith Jr., 20, of Cape Girardeau, fatally shot 53-year-old Gary L. Denham in what witnesses described as a road rage incident in April 2023. Smith was convicted of murder Friday.
