McDonald’s has axed one of its popular breakfast meal deals - leaving customers furious. The fast food chain has pulled its £2.99 sausage and egg McMuffin with a hot drink combo.

Egg McMuffin fans may have noticed that the breakfast sandwich tastes different in recent years. It's all down to a small but significant ingredient swap.

The £2.99 breakfast deal was originally 20p cheaper at £2.79 for a Sausage and Egg McMuffin and a hot drink, but now has been withdrawn from the McDonald’s menu completely.

Meanwhile, a fourth fan fumed: “Shame on you for taking £2.99 sausage egg McMuffin & hot drink deal off!! Do you know how many struggling UK citizens relied on this for a substantial breakfast?
