Gardaí in Drogheda are conducting a forensic search of a house and garden for a second day as part of the investigation into the suspected murder of Kyran Durnin, the schoolboy who went missing more than two years ago.

GARDAI have confirmed that they have completed a search at a house in Drogheda after a man was this morning arrested on suspicion murdering of Kyran Durnin. Investigating Gardai today commenced

One search, commenced earlier at one of the houses in Drogheda, has since finished and further details of this search are not being released for operational reasons, gardaí said. A search at the second house continues and is expected to continue for a period of time.

The search of another property in Drogheda has been completed and a Garda spokesperson said no additional details of the would be released.

Gardaí investigating the disappearance and murder of Kyran Durnin (8) have arrested a man on suspicion of murder. The man is being detained at a garda station in the east of the country. Investigating gardaí have also commenced searches at two locations, domestic houses, in Drogheda.

In October, gardaí launched a murder investigation, saying they were treating Kyran as missing, presumed dead. Although the missing person inquiry began in August, detectives believe Kyran may have been killed more than two years ago.
