Kepler-186f orbits an M dwarf star in the constellation Cygnus. More importantly, it's the first confirmed Earth-size, potentially habitable planet elsewhere in the universe.
One of them, called KOI 5715.01, has four of the desirable aspects for a superhabitable planet. It’s located in the Cygnus constellation about 3,000 light-years from Earth.
This illustration shows the planet KOI-5Ab transiting across the face of a Sun-like star, which is part of a triple-star system located 1,800 light-years away in the Cygnus constellation.
In the most densely packed regions of Cygnus OB2, the researchers found protoplanetary disk possession dropped as low as 1%. That would, therefore, be the worst place for planets to attempt to form.
One small star in the direction of the constellation Cygnus showed signs of five planets. Four of them are tucked in close to the star, so they're probably too hot for life.
"100 Things to See in the Southern Night Sky," by Dean Regas. (Jesse Costa/WBUR) Warm summer nights mean it's time for stargazing. But when it comes to identifying planets, stars and ...
But we have been studying a very small portion of the sky in the constellation Cygnus, ... That means there are up to 19,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars similar to ours with at least one planet ...
Astronomers have found water vapor in the atmosphere of a planet about four times bigger than Earth in the constellation Cygnus, which is about 124 light-years from our home planet.
The danger to forming planets in densely packed star clusters like Cygnus OB2 comes from high-energy ultraviolet and X-ray radiation blasted out in excess by massive infant stars. This radiation ...
