More than 100 soccer players from the women’s game have signed an open letter to FIFA, urging the game’s world governing body to end its sponsorship deal with Saudi oil and gas company Aramco.

This past April, FIFA announced a commercial partnership with Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company, Aramco. The deal, which is in place until the end of 2027, gives the energy company sponsorship rights for the men’s World Cup in 2026 and the Women’s World Cup the following year.
