On Sunday (March 2), the Oscars paid homage to the late, great Quincy Jones by having Queen Latifah sing the iconic “Ease on Down The Road” from 1978's “The Wiz.” Cynthia Erivo performed “Home” from the film earlier in the telecast.

A Bob Hope-ish Conan O’Brien, plenty of references to Oz and "The Wiz," and the pileup of love for one picture all recalled the ceremony’s yesterdays.

It was a huge night for Anora and independent filmmaking at the 97th Academy Awards. Sean Baker matched Walt Disney's record and Mikey Madison surprised many by beating Demi Moore to win Best Actress.
